Payee Number Conversion Update Meetings
Updated: Oct. 25, 2013
About the Conversion Update Meetings
The Payee Number Conversion Update series of meetings for state agencies and institutions of higher education were started to:
- Provide a forum to discuss the payee number conversion process and provide adequate advance notice so agencies can evaluate any possible effects on their business and accounting events.
- Discuss modifications to be made to the statewide systems in support of the March 2014 conversion from payee numbers in the Texas Identification Number System (TINS) that begin with a 2 to randomly assigned numbers that begin with a 7.
- Enhance communication between the Comptroller’s office and statewide systems users.
In addition to TINS, the conversion will affect the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS), Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System (USPS), Standardized Payroll/Personnel Reporting System (SPRS) and Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS).
The payee number conversion will also be a topic at user group meetings.
You are! If you work with the statewide fiscal systems or are involved with payroll or accounting-related policy and issues, the update meetings are a great opportunity to meet your colleagues from the Comptroller’s office and other agencies and share information.
Continuing professional education (CPE) credit will be awarded, so registration is encouraged.
